In March 2011 Dave bought a street BMW M3, and crew chiefs Dave Clark and Doug Chase took separate parts of the challenge to make it a worthy rally car in a very short time.
The Hintz Bros raced four events that year, with Dave as the driver, coming second in class the first two, then winning the second two. This success was enough to clinch the Pacific and Rally-America West Group 5 titles. In 2012 the team returned to the forests for four more rallies, winning two events (in class) and breaking the car in two.
Rick hasn't driven in a rally since 2006, but has done some road racing with two “24 Hours of LeMons” teams.
